Richard has been practicing law since 1979 and is a Partner in Harold, Salant, Strassfield, & Rotbard, LLP.

He specializes in real estate (having represented buyers, sellers, and lenders in more than 3,000 residential and commercial transactions) and Family Court practice (including significant litigation on contested matters involving custody/visitation, grandparent’s rights, foster parent’s rights, adoptions and the like). Richard has obtained an AV rating amongst his peers for his skill in practice.

Bucknell University in Lewisberg, Pennsylvania granted Richard his undergraduate degree with Honors in Political Science, and his Juris Doctor was obtained from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio where he was a member of the Law Review. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, the Federal Courts in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York as well as in The Supreme Court of the United States where Richard actually handled a bitterly contested adoption proceeding. Richard is also a member of the Westchester County Bar Association and the Westchester County Law Guardian Panel. He has been a lecturer to other attorneys on assorted family law and real estate topics and has occasionally appeared on TV news programs in the metropolitan area concerning various family law cases of interest.
